Idea 4: Developing shared narratives
Many of us use different language to understand the challenges we face and our aspirations. Often our understanding is dispersed across many different organisations. We want to use language that is understood by and relevant to the people we want to work with.
The idea is to create a space where people and organisations can share and exchange insight and knowledge to describe problems and opportunities with a view to improving our understanding of issues and ensure we can describe these in a consistent and real way. We could develop ‘consensus statements’ to turn our understanding into a policy position that more people and organisations can unite around and act on.
This could include statements on areas such as: statements which challenge myths around health-related risks of taking part in sport and physical activity to give confidence to those working in health to signpost people into activity; and physical literacy development in children to influence front line delivery and educational institutions.
